Boston Public Schools (BPS), collaborating with UMass Boston, Boston University, and local community partners, is initiating "Project PROVIDE." It aims to recruit and train school psychologists, school counselors, and social workers, thereby impacting over 46,000 students over the next five years.
The project seeks to enhance the diversity and quality of mental health professionals within BPS, as well as to boost the technical and supervisory skills of the existing mental health workforce serving BPS students. Additionally, this grant will help BPS more efficiently transition trainees to full-time roles, aiding in filling job openings and retaining mental health providers.
